HeatBlock Coatings

These coatings are developed for two different applications: the thermal insulation of buildings and the protection of railway tracks against deformation. Although designed for distinct uses, they help address a common challenge: heat.

Innovative solutions are needed to reduce CO2 emissions and meet the ambitious climate targets set by the international community. Fossil energy sources are widely used for heating and cooling buildings, as well as for transport. Improving thermal insulation can reduce energy consumption and help lower the carbon footprint.

During periods of extreme heat, the thermal expansion of railway rails must be restrained by the sleepers and ballast. If these restraining forces are insufficient, lateral buckling and track defects can occur.
